As mentioned in my previous blog, I came up to San Francisco to play at the Performer Magazine booth at the Audio Engineering Society conference today. Mike and I have been to San Francisco a few times, now, so we’re feeling oddly in between tourists and people who truly know where they’re going. Today we took the bus for the first time, and the 12:22 bus came right at 12:22! The bus ride back from the conference site to our friend’s apartment was not as smooth, because traffic had really picked up, but nonetheless, I’d certainly give San Francisco high marks for public transit. The good and the bad always comes together, eh? I thought I had my weekend all planned out, but then I was contacted by Performer Magazine. Looks like I was selected after all to perform at their booth this weekend at the AES conference (AES, for you non-nerds out there, stands for Audio Engineering Society). This follows perfectly with the little MIX appearance yesterday! Being a nerd myself, I think I will like these people. Though I’m playing by myself, Mike and I both get to go to the conference, now. And since he is a bona fide, college-degreed audio engineer, too, I’m sure he’ll be in audio heaven. If you happen to be at the conference, look for me at the Performer Magazine booth and say hi!

I’m sweating it out here in LA and looking forward to our trip to the (let’s hope milder) Northwest at the end of July. It’ll be a quick trip, with a few shows in the Seattle and Portland areas and possibly a stop in San Francisco on the way down. It’ll actually be my first time in Portland, and I’ve heard such wonderful things about the audiences up there, so I’m really looking forward to it. As always, check the shows section for details. We’ll be finishing up the long-awaited music video this month and our fab designer Erin is working on a t-shirt design that will rock your socks off, so this summer is turning out to be pretty darn productive! Who needs the beach…(ok, well, I’ve been going to the beach, too).
